ProtistsA very large and diverse group of organisms. There are plant -like and animal -like protists, with animal -like being protozoans and plant -like being algae. Most protists are unicellular; the traditional name for protists is Kingdom Protista, but the real classification of this group is still being debated today. Some of the organisms which were one a part of Kingdom Protista have now been separated into their own Kingdoms. All protists have been divided into five super groups The first clade is Excavata, this kingdom is characterized by is cytoskeleton. Some have feeding grooves along their bodies. Super Group Excavata includes diplomonads, parabasalids, and euglenozoans. Malaria is a type of disease that derives from these five super groups. Malaria is often carried by mosquitoes which transfer the disease when the bite another organism. Brown algae can grow up to 60 meters long and has chloroplasts as well. Brown algae have swim bladders on the to keep them afloat so that they will l be able to absorb sunlight.
